EXPERIENCE
& QUALIFICATIONS
- Twenty
four years with BP including 15 in senior corporate
roles working with BP executive leadership and senior teams.
- Leaving
BP at the end of 2005 as Vice President Executive
Development with responsibility for meeting the development
needs of the top 600 building capability in BP’s Group
Leadership.
- Previously
VP Group Learning and Organisation Development from
’96 and ’03, leading a global team that created radically
new ways of working, developing innovative processes and
driving performance improvement.
- Earlier
roles include from 1990-93, leader of BP's Culture Change
Team that started the transformation of the organisation;
and from 1993 to 1997, Head of OD under David Simon and
then John Browne.
- Joining
BP as a training specialist, in 1981 and as Group
Training Manager from ’87-’90; experience outside BP
after graduating from Nottingham University with a 2:1 in
Applied Social Sciences in 1971 included working initially
for Harrods and the Distributive ITB.
- Non-executive
appointments include HM Revenue and Customs Board,
since 2000; HM Government Risk Review Implementation
Steering Group; MOD Armed Forces Training and Education
Steering Group; Kate was Chair of the Conference
Board Europe Business Council from 1996 – 2001 and is
a Fellow of the Windsor Leadership Trust.
